Super2 Series rookie Jayden Ojeda, driving for Matt White Motorsport, is set to join the BP Supercars All Stars Eseries as a wildcard this week.
Ojeda is currently the leading series rookie, running fifth overall in the Dunlop Super 2 series after the season-opening Adelaide 500.
“I’m stoked to race in the BP Supercars Eseries” said Ojeda. I’m excited to see how we go against the Supercars guys, as well as Formula 1 driver Lando Norris”
“I’ve been enjoying watching the Eseries racing a lot, it’s something I’m really keen to have a crack at and I am so grateful Supercars has given some of the Super2 racers a go”.
“I have not raced on iRacing before, but I have spent lots of time in the simulator at EurOz Performance at Sydney Motorsport Park in preparation for Wednesday, so hopefully that will transfer across to the new platform” he added.
Ojeda won the 2018 Australian Formula 4 Championship before switching to Touring Cars and finishing a close second in the 2019 Super3 Championship.
Ojeda signed with Matt White Motorsport for the 2020 Super2 Series, and owner Matt White said he is looking forward to seeing Jayden challenge himself after a successful wildcard for another of his drivers Thomas Randell at the Bathurst round.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Jayden in the BP Supercars Eseries, it will be good for him to test himself against the leading drivers on a challenging European circuit like Spa that should suit his style” said White.
Ojeda will be racing a Holden ZB Commodore with backing from Jayco, Visa Global Logistics, City Hino, AJM Transport, UPS, EurOz and Sparesbox.
The BP Supercars All Stars Eseries Round 5 will take place at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on May 6 at 18:00 AEST, all live on Fox Sports and online.
