Current Dunlop Super2 Rookie Champion Jayden Ojeda will battle for the Super2 Series with team MW Motorsport in 2021.
The 21-year-old Ojeda will return to the Nissan Altima team with the aim of securing an unprecedented three-peat in the Super2 Series, which has claimed the last two Super2 crowns through Bryce Fullwood and Thomas Randle.
Ojeda successfully raced for MWM in 2020 finishing as the top rookie and fourth outright in last year’s Dunlop Super2 Series, following his second place in the 2019 Super3 Series.
Ojeda will compete in car 31, sporting major support from long-time backer Jayco and online auto parts supplier Sparesbox.
“It’s not often you get the opportunity to work with the same sponsors and team in consecutive years. I am incredibly lucky to have an awesome group of partners in Jayco and Sparesbox, along with a great team in Matt White Motorsport, where we all share a common goal” said Ojeda.
“MWM have had so much success in the category over the years so I am honoured to have the opportunity again in 2021. I was going through all the drivers in last year’s Bathurst 1000 and something like 18 drivers in that field had driven for MW Motorsport. How’s that for results?” he added.
Team owner Matt White is also excited to keep Ojeda at his championship team.
“We’re really excited to have Jayden stay with us for the 2021 Dunlop Super2 Series. Jayden made great progress last season and managed to exceed our expectations in his rookie season” said White.
“He showed us he is capable of racing with the leading drivers, he managed himself really well in what was a most difficult season for us all. We are thrilled to give another young driver like Jayden the opportunity to continue to learn and progress their career.”
MW Motorsport will enter a strong four-car line-up for the 2021 Series, where Ojeda will be joined in the team by Josh Fife, Declan Fraser and MWM returnee Tyler Everingham.
“All four of our drivers are young, keen and incredibly talented. The current Super2 field looks extremely competitive, so we are looking forward to the challenge of racing against a tough field” White added.
The 2021 Dunlop Super2 Series will be held over six rounds, starting at the Bathurst 500 on February 26-28.
